Melk Design and Fjellstrand AS recieved a ShipPax award in April 2004 for "Outstanding Ferry Concept" for the ferry "Stavanger".

"For achieving a modern, functional, environmentally-friendly and highly attractive design for an otherwise utilitarian vessel with an abundance of innovative solutions, including hullform, propulsion concept, speed of loading and sea speed."
